Seven Earth-size rocky planets were discovered, 40 light-years away, as part of the TRAPPIST-1 planetary System. This system is similar to our own solar system, but the star (Trappist-1) is much smaller than the sun – it’s a dwarf-star – and the seven planets are in a much closer orbit around Trappist-1 – you can see the comparison bellow!
This means that at least three of the planets receive around the same heat Earth receives from the sun, and makes it possible for them to have liquid water – aka they might be habitable! Who knows which #spacemicrobes might survive in those planets? I guess I’ll have to do a new pdf with Trappist-1 as background :p
